DESIGN WORK
We have a strict working ethic at RCE whereby EVERY job that we undertake will have been considered and where necessary, designed in accordance with the latest standards. Because our electrician wish to work in an efficient manner, we always issue working drawings to them for 95% of the jobs that we undertake.
All of the drawings issued are produced in-house and will show the layouts of the installation required along with relevant heights, types, colours and technical details. We include distribution schedules and installation notes so that the actual installation is not only fitted to our exacting standards but we also have a record of what has been done. This is held on our computer system for an indefinite period.
We currently operate a AutoCAD 2006LT system and can produce drawings up to A1 in size. Cable and lighting calculations are made using excel spreadsheets. We can also produce heating and ventilation calculations where necessary.
With all the design facilities to hand and so actively in use every day, we have over the years provided more and more design only projects. We now have somebody in our office working on design full time giving us the flexibility to work between our in-house work and design only work resulting in very competitive fee rates.
We will happily undertake design only for a fixed fee whether the job is large or small. An example of this is two years ago when we designed a small house extension whilst carrying out design checks for the electrical intakes at the mighty Wembley Stadium.
