StreetXO

London|31st October 2016|

Self-described as the ‘high octane’ and ‘more accessible younger sibling’ to Diver XO, Madrid’s only three Michelin starred restaurant, Street XO brings the daring and playful creations of Spanish chef David Muñoz to Great Britain.

Serving dishes fusing together exquisite tastes inspired by the Mediterranean and East Asia, Street XO features a moody and atmospheric interior with a rich palette of stained wood, deep marble and harsh concrete set off with dramatic artworks.

This five month project constantly evolved, often moving away from the original design, and therefore requiring RCE Electrical to ensure our pace matched the exceedingly high expectations of not only the star chef, but also those of famed Spanish interior designers Lázaro Rosa-Violán (LRV).

As well as the standard power, lighting and security features expected from every high-end RCE installation, specialist features included high voltage neon artworks and complete audio system with DJ booth. Advanced safety and security features included heavy power to the kitchen along with fire shutters throughout.

The restaurant opened in late October and is set to become one of the most iconic bar and restaurant venues in London.

Zaap

Newcastle|1st August 2016|

Zaap’s third UK restaurant brings the striking, vibrant atmosphere and delicious, authentic taste of Thai street food to Newgate Street in Newcastle.

RCE Electrical completed the full electrical design and installation including power, fire alarm and intruder alarm systems as well as subtle inclusion of emergency lighting and CCTV systems.

In order to mimic the hectic street atmosphere of Bangkok, and in-line with the specific design of the restaurant owner, much of the electrical wiring is left exposed. Bright neon signage and feature lighting are also a key feature of Zaap’s electrical design. Using a Tiger Scene Control System, RCE Electrical enabled the restaurant to adapt its lighting according to the time of day and is used to maximum effect.

This installation began in June 2016 and Zaap Newcastle officially opened in August 2016 so in the words of the restaurant owners themselves – “Come and join the Zaap Thai street food revolution!”

In July 2016, RCE Electrical completed the power/lighting design and installation in this compact store over a period of just four days.
